Learn To Skate/Learn To Play (Fun 1)
The Learn to Skate (Fun 1) program is targeted for children with limited or no skating experience. Basic skating skills are taught in a fun-filled environment. Sessions are led by professional skating instructors with on-ice helpers. Skating skills taught range from learning to stand and balance, going forwards and backwards, stopping and turning. As the season progresses, games and small group instruction are used as part of the sessions and an introduction to Ringette - the fastest game on ice!
Skating lessons are 50 minutes long. A jersey and set of socks are provided. Full equipment is required to be worn by all skaters which includes: CSA approved helmet with mask, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey/ringette pants, shin pads, jock/jill, and skates.
Program runs Tuesday evenings, 6 PM at the West End Recreation Centre.
